Saka Dawa (Tibetan calendar: the 4th month) || Date: 20th May - 18th June 2023
Shakyamuni Buddha's birth, enlightenment and parinirvana are celebrated during Saka Dawa, which is the most important month in the Tibetan calendar. The 15th day of this lunar month, the full moon day, is called Saka Dawa Duchen which is the single most holy day of the year for Tibetan Buddhists. In 2023, Saka Dawa Duchen falls on June 4th.
Known as the month of merits, during Saka Dawa month (20 May - 18 June 2023) all karmic results—good and bad— are considered to be multiplied by millions.

Through the offering of various substances into the fire, we symbolically offer the negative karma and defilements, transforming them into wisdom and compassion.
