On these powerful days, karmic results are considered to be increased many millions of times. They provide good opportunities for us to accumulate merit, purify negativities and pray for wellness and success.
Gen Namgyel-la has advised some practices for the students and some practices that can be sponsored by the students, so that there is a range of advice for different minds. The students themselves need to decide what is appropriate and what they rejoice in.

Losar (Tibetan New Year) falls on 28th February 2025, starting the year of the Wood Snake. Followed by the Fifteen Days of Miracles, it is a very special and auspicious time of the year. It commemorates when Shakyamuni Buddha performed a different miracle each day to inspire faith & devotion in the Buddha Dharma. It culminates on Chotrul Duchen, which falls on 14th March 2025, the fifteenth day of the Tibetan lunar calendar.
During these fifteen days of miracles (28 February - 14 March 2025), all karmic results—good and bad—are considered to be multiplied by millions.

To celebrate Genla's birthday this year, Merit Fund will sponsor a long-life puja and animal liberation in Nepal, for the long life of our precious guru and the removal of our obstacles for receiving Dharma teachings.
Vesak commemorates the birth, enlightenment, and death (Parinirvāna) of the Buddha, as observed in Theravada, Tibetan Buddhism, and Navayana traditions. It is a significant Buddhist festival also recognised as Buddha Jayanti, Buddha Purnima, Visak Bochea, and Buddha Day, is traditionally celebrated by Buddhists across South and Southeast Asia, as well as in Tibet and Mongolia.

Make Light Offerings with Gen Namgyel-la
Shakyamuni Buddha's birth, enlightenment and parinirvana are celebrated during Saka Dawa, which is the most important month in the Tibetan calendar. The 15th day of this lunar month, the full moon day, is called Saka Dawa Duchen which is the single most holy day of the year for Tibetan Buddhists. In 2025, Saka Dawa Duchen falls on 11 June.
Known as the month of merits, during Saka Dawa month (28 May - 25 June 2025) all karmic results—good and bad— are considered to be multiplied by millions.

Shakyamuni Buddha gave his first teaching—of the Four Noble Truths—at Sarnath on this day over 2500 years ago, after seven weeks of his attaining enlightenment in Bodhgaya. This event is known as “The First Turning of the Wheel of Dharma,” resulting in great benefit for countless sentient beings.

Buddha Shakyamuni's Descent from the Heaven of Thirty-Three
To commemorate Buddha Shakyamuni’s return to earth after three months giving teachings in the heaven realm where Buddha's mother had been reborn, in order to repay her kindness and to benefit the gods. This day signifies Buddha’s compassion to continuously teach and benefit beings; extremely important for Buddhists.
In 2025, Lhabab Duchen falls on the 11 November. All karmic results—good and bad—are considered to be multiplied by millions.

This day is to commemorate the parinirvana of the great Lama Tsongkhapa (1357-1419), who is one of Tibetan Buddhism’s greatest scholars and yogis. Lama Tsongkhapa’s brilliant and illuminated essence of Buddha’s teachings guides Tibetan Buddhists worldwide to this very day. He is the author of Lam Rim Chen Mo—The Great Treatise on the Stages of the Path to Enlightenment—and other profound texts.
Lama Tsongkhapa was the founder of the Gelug school of Tibetan Buddhism, which is the tradition of Gen Namgyel-la—and Lam Rim is the framework that Gen-la’s teachings are based upon.

Tenzin Khedup Rinpoche is the reincarnation of Choeding Rinpoche who was a very special and compassionate Guru of Gen Namgyel-la. Choeding Rinpoche was the reincarnation of Geshe Ben Kungyal. In one of the famous stories in Lam Rim, he was a thief but later became a great lojong practitioner, and finally became enlightened.
