Venerable Gen* Namgyel (affectionately known as Genla), Australian Tibetan Buddhist monk, lived in India and Nepal, traveling extensively to teach Buddhism worldwide, for more than 30 years. In 2019, Genla shifted his residence to Australia.
Genla’s teachers include such great masters as His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Denma Locho Rinpoche, Choden Rinpoche, Lama Zopa Rinpoche, Gen Lamrimpa and Geshe Sonam Rinchen.
Venerable Namgyel has completed four years of Lam Rim retreats and many tantric retreats. Genla had the honour of being the tutor to Lama Osel Rinpoche who is the reincarnation of Lama Thubten Yeshe, the founder of the FPMT.

*Gen is a Tibetan term that means honoured teacher. La is added to form Genla, which indicates our respect for a precious teacher of the Buddhadharma.
